WHO ARE WE?
Cub Scouts is a program for boys in the first through the fifth grades that is operated by the Boy Scouts of America. Each Pack is divided into Dens. Dens are groups of boys who are in the same school grade. Dens meet regularly to work on projects and discuss issues that lead to a boy's advancement toward the next "rank." Along the way, boys can earn special rewards for achievements they do at Den meetings and at home. The Boy Scouts of America was founded in 1910. The national BSA organization charters community organizations to operate Cub Scout Packs. Cub Scout Pack 518 is chartered by the City of Dalworthington Gardens.
HOW DO I JOIN?
The annual Scouting Rally night is held at the beginning of the new school year, but you can join at any time by contacting any adult leader for details. To find a leader, Email any of the leaders at the bottom of this page..
WHAT DO WE DO?
During the year Pack 518 holds many fun events such as pine wood derby, Rain Gutter Regatta, Rocket shoot and of course family camping.
WHY JOIN CUB SCOUTS?
Cub Scouting provides boys with a way to learn new skills, gain self-confidence, and have loads of fun in a safe, supportive environment. Scouting has been shown in several national studies to build character, a sense of community, an understanding of the need for volunteerism, and leadership skills. In Cub Scouts parents are involved and take an active roll in forming their sons values and character.
